Corruption Level Increases In India

On Tuesday, the Annual Index was released by an anti-graft watch dog in 2018 which revealed that India has developed in worldwide corruption whereas China lacks in the same. By statistics of Transparency International for 2018 in its Corruption Perceptions Index, disclosed that India has risen by three points to 78 in the list of 180 countries in the world whereas China ranked 87 and Pakistan ranked 117. There has been no positive outlook in the CPI score for India as it had transited from 40 in 2017 to 41 in 2018. The worldwide watchdog added that in spite of insistence of anti-corruption unit and Jan Lokpal Act by public mobilisation in 2011 there has been no effective steps to curb corruption. Statistics reveal that Denmark stands with the score 88 and New Zealand with 87.Somalia,Syria and South Sudan is at the below point with the scores 10, 13, and 13 respectively. As per the list, more than two-thirds of countries have a score below 50 in the year 2018 with CPI. For the first time since 2011, U.S has stood out of the top 20 countries on CPI. Zoe Reiter, Acting Representative to the US at Transparency International affirmed that a decline in CPI score is a red flag during the threat to its system of checks and balances and in the time when ethical norms are eroding at the highest level of power.  On continuance of such trend would create a massive problem of corruption in the nation and all over.  “ This is a bipartisan issue that requires a bipartisan solution.
