Two Accused Arrested In Jem Conspiracy Case.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on 25th April arrested two Kashmiri youths in the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) conspiracy case for “waging a war” against the Central government and setting up bases in Delhi and other parts of the country. They have been identified as Tanveer Ahmad Ganie (29) of Mandoora and Ahmad Mir (23) of Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A statement issued by the NIA said that the two terrorists - were detained prior to this investigation were under the Public Safety Act and put in the Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu. They were produced before a special court that remanded them to seven-day custody of the NIA.
During the investigation, it was found out that an accused arrested earlier, Sajjad Ahmad Khan, was in regular contact with these two accused over whatsapp. Sajjad Ahmed was arrested by Delhi Police earlier, on March 21 and handed over to the NIA on the charges of waging a war against the Centre. The NIA said Sajjad was specially sent to Delhi to set up hideouts in the NCR area and to strengthen the base of the JeM in India by recruiting persons for carrying out terrorist attacks.
