Mansoor Khan: The ‘Khan’of Deceit
Around thousands of people, Muslims forming the majority, had put crores of cash in organizations, kept running by Mansoor Khan's IMA Jewels. According to sources, the speculation was around of Rs.4, 084 crore and Khan needs to discount around Rs.1, 400 crore to the investors. After several complaints, a case was filed against Mansoor Khan and a Special Investigation Team was set up for the purpose of investigation. The Special Investigation Team found out following an investigation thatMansoor had fled from India around a month and a half prior.
Mansoor Khan was arrested on the night of July 19 in New Delhi, when he landed from Dubai. It was following Khan’s arrest that the Enforcement Directorate requested a transit remand of the ‘I Monetary Advisor’(IMA) promoter in connection with a Ponzi scam back in Bengaluru.
22 arrests have been made in this case thus far, including those of Khan, the directors of the company, the Assistant Commissioner L C Nagaraj and the Commissioner of the Bengaluru Urban District Vijay Shankar.
The Enforcement Directorate secured the transit remand from The Duty Metropolitan Magistrate, Harjit Singh Jaspal. Mansoor Khan would be produced under the watchful eye of the concerned Bengaluru Court today by the ED Officials who are probably going to look for his custodial remand.
